W & M Stuart are excited to share a significant milestone - 40 years in business!

We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to our staff, our loyal customers, suppliers and contractors. Your support over the years have been the pillars of our success.

In celebration of this achievement, we are sharing with you, below some memorable photographs throughout the 40 years at W & M Stuart.

1984 - The Beginning

In 1978, William went on to serve his time in Ballater with his Uncle Graham Stuart.

After much consideration and keen to serve his local community, William made the decision to go self-employed. In June 1984, working from the loft at their home in Alford, Aberdeenshire, WB Stuart was established.

Several years later, Margo joined as partner and the company name changed to W & M Stuart.

1988 to 1992 - A Family Affair

In June 1988 William and Margo welcomed their firstborn, Michael.

Once left school, Michael went on to serve his apprenticeship at W & M Stuart. Excluding a year out to work in Australia in 2009, Michael continues to play an integral part within the family business.

In December 1992, William and Margo welcomed their second born, Laura.

Once Laura had completed college in 2011, she started her first job at an oil company working in Banchory. Laura and her dad discussed the opportunity to work within the family business and 5 years later she decided to take her dad up on the opportunity, starting with W & M Stuart in 2016.

As things started to evolve throughout the years and William had taken on his first plumbers and apprentices, the business began to expand and eventually a new yard, store and office was built next to their home in Alford, Aberdeenshire.

2018 - Kingsford Bathrooms Opens it's Doors

With an increase in requests for new bathrooms, W & M Stuart decided to establish a bathroom installations team solely involved in the refurbishment of bathrooms.

In 2017 preparations began expanding the existing office to include a new bathroom showroom.

In 2018, our first bathroom showroom opened it's doors, Kingsford Bathrooms.

William and Margo take pride in their hard working, dedicated and enthusiastic team.

Throughout the 40 years, William and Margo have taken on over 30 apprentices who have attended college and gone on to become time served plumbers, some of those who are still with us today. Several of our plumbers have collected awards throughout their apprenticeship, including 'Best Plumbing Apprentice in 2nd Year', 'Best Craft Plumber', 'Best Gas, Oil & Renewables Apprentice' & 'Top Craft Apprentice Nominee'

Some of our employees have been with us from the beginning and have celebrated special milestones with us recently.

John Rennie - Our Heating Manager who has been with us for 26+ years.

William describes John as his right hand man - With his extensive knowledge and experience in Oil and Gas Heating, John plays an integral at W & M Stuart Ltd.

Brian Milne - Brian came to us as a time served plumber and has been with us since 1993. We are proud to now have him part of the Kingsford Bathrooms installation team. Brian's attention to detail and quality of workmanship is second to none.
